My Wish List to Santa - the Odd, the Unnecessary and the Most Important

Updated: Dec 15, 2023

I had this dream of designing a pretty letter writing paper (lettersheet) for Santa. But why oh why? - you'd want to know. Just because. But then, this might be your lucky day, because I found better designs on Canva than anything I could ever do. So, let me share my wishlist, my letter(s) to Santa (instead of the paper itself).

Asking for objects would be foolish of me - for I'd need to commit to one country (and most specifically, to one place). A space. (Which I can't really see happen - not just yet.)

So, this list is by no means a hint to my loved ones reading these lines. (Yes, I'm that loved, I suspect some of them might try to buy some of these things for me. - Please don't. But thank you so very-very much!)

Now, with this out of the way, here're my two letters.

Letter Nr.1 - The Odd and Unnecessary List (collected from Etsy)

1.) I've been wanting a moon lamp. It's a globe that glows. Yes. I know. Magic. (The lesson of this Christmas season, for me, is that I am very into globes - they feel somehow eternal.)

2.) The ridiculously expensive Remarkable 2 - a paper tablet with a keyboard.... (Now, I'm cheating here, because the remarkable isn't from Etsy, duh.) The Remarkable is actually black and white and is perfect for writers. (The picture is only an AI illustration.)

3.) Stuff for writers. Mostly novelty jumpers. I must share a story here. One day, while living in Ireland, I fell in love with a jumper and ordered it online. This very jumper, actually:

Something I did not think about, however, was how much it would cost me - as the product came from Canada. But this jumper, shabby as it is right now, has walked me through the weirdest of adventures in the last few years. It's worn down, and I slept in it in airport buildings and cried a lot, but it meant (still means) the world to me. Buy joy objects. They will change your life.

As a new jumper - of the same logic - I'd want this one: the one turning the idea of 'The Writer' into a tarot card:

a young woman in a jumper that has writer objects on it (quills, letters)

4.) A roaring yellow typewriter. I mean... Typewriters are such a joy. I used to have one (more precisely it was an ex's, and then a breakup happened, so I don't have it anymore, duh). A typewriter is definitely not something I could handle now, for that, I'd need to - once again - settle. But God are they so very fun. And I'd want to have a yellow one. Something I learned about myself while living abroad was that I was craving sunlight like crazy, lack of light depresses me. Not warmth but light. And colours. Vividness. Are a must.

5.) A lemon yellow armchair. Just because. (Or it could be very vivid, an odd assortment of patterns and colours!)

6.) A HUGE journal, but make it non-leather, because I love animals. But for a HUGE journal, I'd need a HUGE table in a HUGE study. And for that, I'd need a HUGE land with a HUGE castle. None of them do I have, but that's OK, because I have loved ones and adventures. One needs, after all, some inspiration to write about in one's HUGE journal.

7.) Just a bunch of letter writing stuff. Papers, stamps, etc. But Santa, with this one I could bring others joy too!

And all this in the form of a letter:

Letter to Santa

Okay. Jokes aside. Let's talk about the Real, the Most Important:

As this space - after all - is very public, it would be unfair of me to get very specific. So, let me wish in general terms, and I know You'll know what I mean, Dear Santa.

Letter to Santa

Nothing else matters, truly.

We still have 1,5 weeks of Advent to enjoy, and that, at this very moment, brings me much merriment. Also, some of my love packages and cards have arrived to my dear recipients! Clumsy little cards, but still! What else could I wish for?

Till next time, My Darlings.

Hugs from the Fearless Frock.:)
